Hi,

New to Yeti ownership and VAG car ownership.

We have a 2016 Yeti in the Laurin & Klement varient.

Just trying to figure out what wheels to put on it over the winter month (in know summer is coming)

I want to downsize the wheel size, is there a yeti wheel i should look out for? did the lower models come with a smaller wheel?

what offset do i need ? happy to even go on steels.

Do all VAG car use the same bolt pattern ?

Personally I would steer well clear if the diamond cut type judging by my Origami wheels under the clear lacquer were starting to delaminate...........never had that on ANY make of alloy wheel before.

IIRC the pre-facelift range did have 16" Moon alloy wheels on some of the lower-end models.  Those particular wheels don't seem to be particularly readily available these days.  I think all the Greenline models came with 16" alloys but I'm not sure exactly which wheels they were.

 

Personally, I wouldn't bother with alloys for winter tyres due to the increased risk of cosmetic damage from debris buried in snow/slush, and unplanned wheel/infrastructure encounters on slippery surfaces (there's a limit to how much even winter tyres & AWD can do to get you out of trouble).  If you think you may need to fit chains at any point then even more reason to avoid alloys IMO.

 

I got my first set of winter tyres for the Yeti delivered ready-fitted to 16" steel wheels.  That was from MyTyres.  I'm still running the same wheels, now all year round with Goodyear 4season tyres.  I have a set of cheap 16" silver plastic wheels trims fitted - but only because the missus complains about bare black steelies!

You don’t have to stick to Yeti wheels, what wheel you choose will depend on what you prefer the look of.

Yes the ’S’ came with 16” wheels

As std they use ET45

No, you need 5x112 PCD (57.1mm CB) and around ET45

Some other 5 stud VAG cars use 5x100 PCD and some use 4 stud, some newer Audi’s also use 5x112 PCD but have a centre bore (CB) of 66.6mm!
