Can anyone confirm if the Amundsen unit can use post codes for journey planning, and how can I confirm the model number?

When you're entering a new location you should see a button at the bottom left of the screen labelled PTCD (or something like that) which lets you enter the postcode.

You don't say what Skoda model you have so answering what model Amundsen you have isn't possible. You can always read the part number with VCDS or similar diagnostic tool?
