Scout rad cooling fan dead, query

Featured Replies

Before I remove ..Anyone know if there is a control module associated with the fans.

searched under battery etc.... 08 scout 2ltr tdi.

Thanks in advance... p

Please check electric plug (main) and little one between both fans. I've seen them rotten on few occasions. Don't think if there is any ctr. module just for fans.

yes...had a look at the fan..plugs were ok..,,on main connnector there are 4 wires  ..2 for control (small wires) and 2 for power...12v appears on on small wires after engine heats up..  constant 12v on power wires.

.Anyway ..turned out problem was temp sensor located between battery an engine, over gearbox. ...from what i learned, an i maybe wrong .. the 12 v on the control is not enough to start fan...the voltage increases on the control pair as temp rises ..then the fan kicks in.
