MK2 Octavia Windscreen replaced.

Featured Replies

I just had my windscreen replaced under insurance and i think the installers have done a rather average job,

So what im seeing is the Rain/Light sensor and mirror has been installed too far down the screen.

The trim/wiring looks to be stretched and is no longer hugging the screen.

What im after is pics from other mk2 VRS owners of the mirror with sensor from inside/outside.

Thanks

Got a picture of yours?

There are two windscreens with the RLS (rain light sensor) in different positions. If I remember correctly they are 90mm and 110mm down from the top.

It sounds like they've picked the wrong one for your car, you certainly shouldn't be able to see the wires. I'd give them a call and ask for them to come back with the correct glass.

That definitely looks likes they've fitted the wrong screen so the mirror is too low causing the wires to show.

I'd give them a call and ask them to try again!

It should look like this:
