School Holiday Happiness

Featured Replies

Well most of the schools have now broken up for the summer holidays, and boy does it make a difference, not only do i get an extra 10 minutes in bed :) I also get way better MPG in the morning

Left hand picture is my usual (painful) daily commute, right hand side is exactly the same journey only much more bearable !!

You are lucky, I live in Kingston and school holidays seem to be a cue for blocking off lanes on its one way system, some parts are 1 lane instead of 3

Took over half hour to do quarter mile today as also introduced temporary traffic lights (which don't phase with main lights)

Less school traffic, but vastly more roadworks in our area.

Policy seems to be do work during weekdays (including morning rush hour), Don't work nights or weekends when traffic is light

Seem to be in a rush to do work before a cycle race on Sunday 29th which closes all the roads,

School Holiday Happiness for me starts on the 16 August.

That's early. We start our family summer holiday on the 16th August and they don't go back until 5 September :o

Scottish schools usually start their summer holidays at the end of June, and we go back in the middle (ish) of August

Could some of that improvement be down to the fact the car is bedding in?

2,242 miles to 4,790 miles.

Don't think so as this time last week I was still only averaging around 32mpg

we started last week of June, go back 2nd week in August :-)

Scottish B/H weekend is as used to be in England, start of August as I recall

School holidays,thing of the past.

I retired from teaching after 35yrs in secondary school last summer. guess what, I went away for my summer holiday on Sept 1st, because I could.

I also went away a week before Easter this year and  in June.

Fantastic, no kids, empty pool, cheap prices, love it.
