5-gear manual gearbox stutters and gearbox oil info

Featured Replies

Hi,

In this week I have realized, that sometimes when I want to switch from 2 to 3 or from 4 to 5 the gearbox handle stuck or stutters and I need to force to jump to the gear. The other thing is when I start the car (everything is cool) some strange noise coming during switching gears. Like the joining between parts loose a bit. Is it possible that I have to check the gearbox oil level, or change it?

I heard somewhere that some gearbox coming from a life long gearbox oil and not needed to change. Is it possible? I could not find this info. My car is from 2005 with BGU motor code.

I dont think that oil can cause this problem, due to it stutters only in 3 and 5, but I have no idea what can cause it.

thanks for any info / suggestion.

you could change it and hope--  might be lucky but if it's never been done and my maths is correct it doesn't sound good,  maybe source a secondhand one  plenty of donors once you have the correct g/box code
