Skoda Fabia vRS Winter Alloys/Tyres

Featured Replies

After my new purchase the other week I am already thinking ahead to winter.

On other cars I have previously had a set of winter wheels/tyres and just wanted to run a few options past people to get some opinions.

I would normally get a second set of wheels from eBay and fit some new winter tyres but from checking eBay there doesn’t seem any Fabia vRS alloys.

I love the look of the car and don’t want to fit steel wheels as don’t think they will suit the car.

What would opinion be on buying new winter tyres and then swapping between winter/summer tyres on the same set of wheels?

Cheers,

Chunk

Hardly worth it if you find a set of Gigaro or Trinty wheels with All Weather /Winter tyres in Brisoda 'For Sales' which you might well do in the next few months before you need them, or place an Wanted ad.

Not worth putting on and off tyres, & getting them balanced.

Winter tyres can be a tight fit and fitters can mess up Gigaro alloys.

(Especially the Dark Chrome Gigaro you have, maybe best get a set that are Black or paint them black with the Winter Tyres on.)

I just used my contis during the winter and never had any issues at all.

Got a set of Avon ZZR’s on my spare wheels though.

Always nice to have winter tyres if you do end up needing them.  (they work rather well on the 1/4 mile as well..Nice and grippy on a hot straight track..)

Defo not worth it in my 7 years I did it for 2 years with a spare set of gigaros and winter tyres sold them last year, better spending the money on the alloys with corrosion.

True a lot of people use the rainsports at Crail due to how soft they are.

Fancy that I've a spare set of gigaro's for sale.....

I’ve just bought a set of 4 15 inch steels with 195 55 15 Michelin winter tyres on for my vrs.

They might be for sale in a month or so as using them whilst mine are off for refurb.
