Can you not use carplay/android auto instead? Not only will you get artwork you’ll have more control and it will appear like an app.

Unresponsive headunit - touch not working
matthall94 replied to CReese123's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
Can you reset it by holding down the power button for 30 seconds until you see the skoda logo? this usually fixes my smartlink error when it decides to play up. -
Very strange I would have assumed it was standard on a 68 plate unless the car is the very basic S spec but the head unit doesn’t look like the basic model. Could understand if it had neither android or carplay but the usually go hand in hand - I’ve never seen a head unit with one and not the other. Best bet is to call the dealer, odds are one of the salesman will have an iPhone available to test.

Bodywork repairs - Skoda Approved
matthall94 replied to FZS1's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
No experience with Alton Cars but I wouldn’t recommend JCT at hillsborough. Like you I assumed a Vw approved bodyshop would do a top job but I had to take my golf back 4 times before it was right, and it was only a small ding on the front passenger door. The paint kept sinking and showing sanding marks/ sign of the original damage - although the colour match was good. -
Powdercoat is more durable in my experience and gives a better finish as it’s easier to achieve an even coat with the alloy being electrically charged as it’s being applied (fascinating process really) paint opens up more colour choices though tbf but providing you don’t want something obscure i would always chose Powdercoat

Don’t think any mk3s had adaptive cruise did they? sure it’s only just been added on the mk4 (new platform)

I’m not sure how the OP’s tyre radius has changed when he’s fitted the same tyre size, it’s just the speed rating of the tyre has changed which has very little affect in the real world (tyres are rated much higher than the max legal limit of 70mph) Some tyres use softer compounds which can make them feel low on pressure/air, Uniroyal rainsports are a popular soft tyre and even look visually under inflated the sidewalls are that soft.

Will changing the muffler void warranty?
matthall94 replied to NikolaIv's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
Op is asking about warranty, not insurance it’s best practice to check with your warranty company as there’s no point guessing and you later find out your warranty is void when you need it the most. Certainly some companies will not cover your car if aftermarket parts have been fitted as there’s no way of knowing if they’re compromising other parts of the car which may fail prematurely. also, if a part has to be replaced they won’t want the bother of sourcing like for like. -
Well I could be totally wrong but I believe the idea is the weight of the water forces itself out of the holes but the grommet stops dirt getting inside and blocking the hole if that makes sense.

Rear window demister needs repair
matthall94 replied to MATT1's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
Check your insurance and see what your glass excess is (usally £50-75). Then you either take a hammer to it and call up saying you need a new one or speak to them about how you don’t feel safe driving it not having clear vision as the demister is knackered and see if they’ll arrange a replacement. -
I find my 1.0 tsi 95 very easy to live with considering my last car was a golf gti. It strikes a fine balance between cheap everyday motoring with some nice things thrown in too like smartlink etc. Only things I don’t like are the windy windows in the back, no one touch windows in the front and how basic the seats are (colour edition) never had an issue with road noise, mines on Dunlop tyres, my golf was on Bridgestone and was much louder in comparison.

Both, usb c is the new standard but you can get adapters that convert it from the old style usb A. good quality cables yes in terms of their construction if you want them to last but same with hdmi no need to pay over the odds sucked in by promises of better sound etc, and certainly no need to be paying dealer prices.

Fabia Estate - 95 vs 110 psi?
matthall94 replied to Mattdanielc's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
The 95 comes with 16” alloys on the colour edition. Come to think of it the bhp and wheels sizes are not related, depends on the model spec.
