Hello . Has anyone got the 110 bhp fabia with 6 speed manual box and if so do you find the gear change rough ? I have 3300 on the clock and each gear change is different most of the time it is not smooth and clunky with the odd gear change requiring a little force to get it in . Have had each mk fabia and would say this is the worst box of them all . Any help would be great thanks

I found the gear change on my wife's August 2015 Polo with the 6 speed box a bit annoying at first, but either it has improved or I've got used to it, certainly it did not start life as smooth/easy to change gear as her 96K 13 year old Polo 1.4 16V 75PS that it replaced all throughout its life.

Jerlac, at this point with 3300 miles on the clock I'd take it to your dealer for them to assess the gearchange. It's probable the gearchange needs resetting to factory spec. It was probably never set right at the factory before it left. Good luck.

The other thing that could be a possible cause of the gearchange notchiness is the clutch. The clutch friction disc could be sticking on the gearbox output shaft preventing a clean disengagement when changing gear. Your dealer can check for that! Good luck and post back if you will when you know what the cause is.
