CarPlay won’t return to home menu

Just got a Superb with CarPlay. All connected easily enough but now it won’t return to home menu when the big white dot is pressed.

ie, If I go into the phone app at the end of the call it stays on that screen and I have to come out of it on the phone before the car display will return to the main CarPlay menu.

Im guessing its me or my phone but can’t fathom it out.
