Skoda fabia fan blower resistor

Featured Replies

Hy new to this any help would be great I've no air coming into my 2008 1.4tdi skoda fabia and I saw all the posts on here and YouTube but when I got the airbag out I couldn't find where the resistor was I checked everywhere and it's not in my car now my skoda is the high spec model I'm hoping someone here can advise me as to where it is as my car is going to pot loads of electrical stuff seems to be going wrong the past few days as in glowplug light is flashing and no brake lights and no cruise control cheers and thanks I'm from Ireland

Does your car have climatronic, digital a/c? This is the one with lcd display and about eight speed settings, along with an auto mode, etc on the front.

Climatic versions have a turny dial with four settings.

If digital, you won't find it as its built in to the motor and its a dash out job, I'm afraid!

No brake lights often means the brake light switch has gone, around £20-odd quid from a dealer, if you can fit it, £120 if they do!

Could also be a fuse (As could the a/c)  But I think that might only blow one side or the other. The glow plug light might just be the warning that the brake light switch has gone and there are no brake lights so try the switch before spending pots of cash, if you can.

Could even be blown brake light bulbs. More than one could do the same thing.

Check if fuses for a/c also run the cruise as that may be the issue. I have not got cruise and never worried alout it... My right foot does the job!

Hiya doing thanks a million for the heads up your 100% in everything you said it was the brake switch and I need a new fan blower and yea unfortunately for me the dash needs to come out which is going to cost 350e for the labour and 350e for the fan also it is exactly as you said its the climotratic control system the exact one as you described thanks again for the reply I don't suppose you know how to get the dash out ha ha

Whereabouts are you based? I found that a bit OTT in price! Perhaps a main dealer? The fans ARE pricey but that sounded too much. I think I paid around £550 but I also had a turbo hose replaced at the same time.

Oh, Just spotted, Ireland. Have you looked around for a trust-worthy VW/Skoda specialist?

Hy sorry for late reply I'm in castledermot in Kildare that was the quote I got off garage and they really don't even know what fan motor it takes so could need to be stripped twice

I would think its the same as mine but I'd need to drag out the old receipts and see if that listed the part number. It may even be different but similar age and same climatronic system. I am aware they are one of the pricier fans, though. Have you gat a main dealer out there anywhere? Might not be that much different in price and you'd get the proper two year warranty on genuine Skoda parts if it does go wrong again.

Quick google and you have two Skoda dealers within a reasonable driving distance... Sheehy Motors, Newbridge Road, Naas, Kildare IRL

Tel,

045 906600

Or Ballybrittas motors,  Ballybrittas, Portlaoise,  Co. Laois  Tel,  057-8626479/086-2525385.

They may give you a decent quote, supply you with the part er possibly the part details.
