backlight power wire color code octavia MK II

Featured Replies

Hi I would like to install a backup camera on a Skoda Octavia Mk II. Does anyone know the color code on the power cable of the rear light ?

I mean, what is the color of the reverse light cable, to power the backup camera?

I would assume the same colour as the one attached to the reversing lamp connector, open the boot lining as you would to remove a failed bulb it should be easy enough to work out from that.

ok thank you, I would like to ask you another thing, if I connect the cam power cable to the back light does the car give me the bulb foult error ?

Thanks

Depends on the camera...

OEM ones shouldn't, aftermarket ones might depending on their quality. You might also get interference due to the bulb check circuitry...

I see, is there anyway to prevent the interference from the check circuity?

Is it difficult to remove the luggage trim ?

Where to get oem camera ?

I was thinking to buy autovox camera,  are they good ?

Thank you

Hi, I would like to ask if there is there any instruction to how remove the back luggage Trim ? I don't see any srcew that hold that up piece ?

Thank you

On the hatchback/sedan, there is a single screw on the internal handle. Once that's removed, the trim should pull off.

The white bit unclips. You should be able to see which wire connects to the reverse bulb.

Failing that, use a multimeter.

Removing it doesn't help so much because actually the cable doesn't  go inside the white light bulb holder. I will try to see again
