Deactivating the Key

Featured Replies

On my new 4x4 Karoq 4x4 when locking on the key it says within 5 secs touch the door handle with a finger the direction indicators will flash.  This will indicate that the key has been deactivated and  after ten seconds test the system and the door should remain closed and can only be opened by using the button.  I get no flash from the indicators so it does not work.  Any suggestions would be welcome

The red led by the a pillar inside the cat will flash, not the indicators.

The indicators flash as described on my Kodiaq. I presume when the lock button on the door handle is pressed the doors lock normally and the indicators flash then.

Have you tried unlocking using the handle after you’ve done the above to make sure the procedure isn’t working?

All is now working I was touching the wrong part of the door handle.  The indicators do flash once. The red pillar also.

Thanks for the answers.  A final question which the Skoda garage are unsure about is, If when locking the car on the button and touching the door handle in the right place and the indicators flash once and after ten seconds the car will not open is the second key also deactivated which would not be with you at that time. A test in the morning will take place

As far as I know, when KESSY is disabled by touching the door lock button after locking with the remote, keyless entry by any means is disabled and you need to unlock by using the key fob button. Look forward to the results of your testing.
