Turbo blown and upgrade Gee's old VRS

Featured Replies

Since the turbo has given way this week, im left with a options

One being repair the AET turbo (wasn't told spec but suspect 1756)

Or go GTD1760vrk

Or skillatubo 1856

I have already go +80% firad injectors to go on

Main goal is not much lag as the roads here are twisty and not very straight

And to be reasonably reliable

What do you guys suggest and where to buy

Ive tried dark matter tuning but no reply after a week of email fb message and left answer phone message

Tried skillatubo but finding it hard to contact

Thanks Wil

I can reccommend you these injectors https://fmic.eu/298-injectors

So gutted the turbo went on it. It was a custom built pd150 hybrid from AET from what I can remember from Gee.

How was the car running? Did you find out why it kept going through cams when I had it?

Ive been in contact with AET

But im fitting a GTD1756 now so turbo will be sorted

As for the cam problem it was a damaged follower seat in the head which had a groove in so oil pressure was lost to the follower on idle ok on say 2k rpm

Car was running like a dream

Soon to be flying again

Have got +80% firad injectors to go in with the turbo

Will do a post about the car when i get tim and update photos of how she is now all painted;)

That's interesting, it had a second hand, low mileage head fitted by unit 18 that's was skimmed and inspected when the cam was originally replaced.  Think I was right about shoddy workmanship all along.

Im glad you got it running and back to its former glory. What's your opinion of the tarox brakes?

Ive found a lot on the car in wiring that needed to be corrected and made more reliable,

The brakes are good just require better pads to cope with heat if pushed the fade a bit but overall there good
