Suzuki Swift - Speedo

The time has come for my sister to replace her dying 2004 Microbe (needs the timing chain replacing) to something with a bit more goodies too

I have seen a Suzuki Swift (2007) which looks good but the ad says the speedo doesn't work.

Reading some online forums it could be a sensor or the instrument cluster.

 

Someone on here used to have a Swift?

Basically I need to know if it's going to be a dear fix and if the Swift is a bargain buy.

If it was a cheap fix then surely the current owner would have mended it and got a better price for it.
