OPEL - Here we go again

Featured Replies

Cant say im shocked...

Everyone was ready to burn VAG at the stake over dieselgate. Everyone except those that shouldve been first in The queue to light the matches - every other manufacturer... who were instead incredibly quiet about the goings on at Wolfsburg, why? Because they all knew VAG's only "unique" crime, was being the first ones caught... how many more emissions scandals have been uncovered but to alot less media fanfare than VAG.

Any reason that a raid would not be made on Vauxhall in the UK?

Maybe the French PSA group were the whistle blower having purchased Opel / Vauxhall.

No, theyll be able to just change the logo on the letter head and use what they found at Opel.. ;)

I'm maybe mis-remembering but I think I can recall Vx cars coming out particularly badly on lab Vs real world emissions testing.

The French Authorities cleared them last year.  But that is the French.

As it was it was GM that owned the company at the time of any Defeat Devices or cheating.

Global Chief of GM was Stefan Jacoby after he left VW USA as the CEO in 2010, to join Volvo as the Head for Geely before then going to GM.

GM is North American owned is it not, but a Global company.

Here is someone that should know what went on in Germany, USA, China / Singapore and globally.

Maybe the EU Commissioners or European Courts will be looking to the USA to have some GM Executives and Board Members visit Germany to be questioned under oath.

Fiat, Jeep & Suzuki will no doubt be getting a chap on the door again soon.

Fiat that made the JTD/A20DTH engine that GM used by Opel in the insignia (my car..) iirc toyota were buying the block for the avensis...

So, yeah, everyone.

@Aspman going by many videos/forum threads there are on how to clean the internals of that cdti/ecoflex lump and how filthy they are internally.. im not surprised they performed crap in real world emmissions. A clean burn cant leave the amount of residual gack build up that they seem to..

VW bought into & owned 20% of Suzuki until the night before the emissions scandal broke when Suzuki bought back the last shares.

Suzuki used the Fiat diesels which is what peed off VW anyway.  (Suzuki used many peoples diesels over the years.)

Fiat cars and Jeep are sister cars.

They are all spaver connected as some of us call it.
