Recently I lost all sound from the passenger side speakers in my car. As a result I've taken  the door panel off and can't see any loose cables. I think that it's the stereo so I'm thinking of replacing it with an upgraded unit. I currently have a swing stereo so I'm thinking of replacing it with the sat nav one. Is it likely to be the stereo given that I can't see any damage to the cables and if so should it just be a straight swap except for the sat nav aerial?

Anything else not working in the door? I assume the stereo cables go through the same loom as everything else.

The door loom is a common failure.

 

Everything else is working fine. I need to check but pretty certain I'm hearing the phone through the speaker hence suspect a headunit channel issue.

Has someone altered the right - left balance on the headunit?

I wish it were that easy but no. Thanks for the suggestion though.

If you can hear the phone thru those speakers perhaps removing a battery terminal for a minute may kick it back into life.

Just the main vehicle battery? Ok, I'll give that a go and report back.
