Lewis Hamilton - 5 World Titles!

Featured Replies

So, Lewis equals Fangio and only Schumacher ahead of him.

An incredible achievement. As Fernando Alonso said this week, in his opinion Lewis is in the top 5 ever - Fangio, Senna, Schumacher, Prost being the others!

I’m delighted for him, especially after his long wait between 2008 and 2014 for his second title!

It certainly pays to have a reliable car !.

Barsteward.   Waited all day to watch on poverty TV, not on until 11 pm,

not watched the the news or had the radio on and there it was showing in topics.

Ah, apologies. It was hardly unexpected though!

Didn't the title of the thread give you a hint not to read the title of the thread? ;)

Same here

There’s a lot of ifs and buts in F1 but I do wonder if red bull had vettel and Hamilton together in the team when vettel won his 4 titles 2010-2013 could this year have been Hamilton equaling Schumacher 7 wins?we will never know.

True!  Interesting thought.

Although Lewis won it this year with arguably the second best car. He makes so few mistakes and that is what elevates him ahead of the others.

Verstappen is the man to watch in the coming years! He is only just 21 and has gained huge experience already. I think Lewis was 22 when he came into the sport.

It was at least going to be worth watching because maybe Max or Sabastian could have taken Lewis out.

But because someone did not do a spoiler alert it was pretty boring even on the highlights programme, so off went that programme.

If you don’t want to find out, don’t turn anything on at all!

Ye right, i thought Briskoda is OK just do not look in the Motorsport Section or the F1 thread, no plonkers gives away the outcome of the races.

& you never, just let the cat out of the bag that he completed the race.

He's unquestionably a great driver, its a shame he such a pretentious prat :(

Hey, he's sick and dope, and flurb, and fligon, and...

Yeah, you're right he's a Grade A Bell End. I particularly liked being lectured by him in his video about the impact of humans on the planet. You know, by the guy who avoided paying tax on his private jet.

Good grief if I'm feeling old. I don't even know what flurb or fligon are/is :D

I made the last two up!  Having said that, today I inadvertently hit the "Trending" button instead of "Subscription" on YouTube, and had to double check I had the settings set to 'English'.  Even Google Translate was at a loss with some of the video titles.

I think the term "gentlemen racing drivers" ended many  many years ago when it was a sport, its now a ruthless multi billion $$$$$$ business for winners only but it has taken the control away from Ferrari a bit.:D:D:D:D:D

Christ, we do like to criticise our British winners!

He’s won 5 World Championships and is probably one of the five greatest drivers of all time.

He’s not perfect, but who is!! He’s a fantastic example of British success whatever people say.

Personally I don't doubt he is one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time, but in my eyes he epitomises that it's also important how you act when not competing. James Hunt won one F1 title but is fondly remembered as he was a charmer and a large character (in a way we seem to like out hero's), so too was Graham hill and Colin McRae. They weren't the guys who won the most, but were compelling characters (even though they were both flawed). When those guys spoke you listened, when Lewis Hamilton speaks you go and make a cup of tea. I feel he lacks any true soul and is a product of a racing circus that produced a superb racer, but not much else. I certainly never see any real personality come through  :(

Miss the personality of a lot of the past drivers fighting with each other on and off the track,Hunt ,senna ,Prost ,mansel etc.

When Mercedes returned to the sport they languished behind the top 3 teams even with Schumacher  behind the wheel. A lot of it is to do with the car but I will not take away Hamilton's effort in gaining 5 titles.
