I want to replace suspect fuel pump, and need advice on removing the electrical connector.

 

Looks to me as if someone has been in here before — I can't see the usual tab to press to release the connector, and I think I can see where original plastic has broken away.

 

What's the correct way to remove this without damaging integrity of the locking mechanism?

All ok, used a little hook to move clip over tab without stressing it.
