Nav Map updates getting less frequent

Featured Replies

A few days ago, my next Amundsen map update was showing as Nov, now the update site is showing....

The last update was in August 2018, the next update is scheduled for 2. Quarter 2019. details

Map update takes place twice a year, other software updates, eg. Bluetooth®, MirrorLink® or Radio Stations Logos runs intermittently, as needed.

That makes once per year for an update!!

Do Skoda not realise the new roads are appearing all the time. Do they want their Sat Nav to become useless?

Are Skoda taking the p*** here??

From memory it does that every time around when an update is coming out.

It's normal, keep checking back for the update, but it's likely the VW version of the map will be available quicker if you want to give that a go.

For example, the VW ones for Columbus are here:

Its been the same since the beginning, the "Next Update" time changes automatically when you reach November to show May of the next year irrespecitve of if a new update has been released.

Usually the map updates are late by around a month for Skoda but you can get the equivelant version from VW a little earlier usually.

There have been sometimes where the Skoda update have been delayed due to issues but for Columbus at least there have always been 2 updates a year.

Skoda is already a lot better than many manufacturers that they at least offer free updates.

With our previous company BMW 3series it cost 600€ to update the maps & afterwards the system was still terrible....

Keep an eye on the forum over the next weeks, as I see theres already a "direct download" link available for Columbus map updates.

Once there is an Amundsen update available for VW or Skoda, someone uses posts a link to download the file directly without needed to use the Skoda website.
