Car Valet, Swindon area for milk spill

Featured Replies

We had a disaster and spilt around 5 pints of milk in the rear footwell of our month old Karoq. Does anyone have a recommendation for a specialist valet who may be able to take care of it in the Swindon area. It stinks!

You may want to valet the surface yourself before the milk goes bad and releases a odour,

Mix some fairly liquid in warm water, spray onto the area and use a carpet brush to scrubb it in, then wipe away the residue with cloths or use a wetvac to extract. 5 pints is quite a lot of liquid to sink into the carpet so make sure that once you have finished you leave the car running with the heater to allow the carpet to dry

Thanks for the advice - I’ve cleaned it a few times and got the carpet/insulation up as best I can without removing the seat and dried it as best I can as well. Given the quantity of fluid I don’t think I’ll ever sort it fully. I’ve had a quote from a chap in Portsmouth to replace the insulation and clean the rest but was hoping to find somewhere a little closer to home.

Anyone with this issue should maybe contact their local Dairy or Milk Distributor and see who they recommend.

They should have experience where Shops or Supermarkets they supply sent Customer that had bottles burst go to valeters or dealerships then try billing the milk supplier.

Get the right person on the case with the right products,  he or she who hesitates can be landed with big bills, or requiring an insurance claim.

Several similar thread on this forum and others.

Thanks for the advice, a combination of washing with a carpet cleaner, washing powder, enzyme cleaner and vinegar seems to have got rid of the worst of it - it was awful for a time but much better now.  We'll probably get it all replaced when we can leave the car with someone for long enough though.
