My Yeti coughs and restarts by itself

Featured Replies

I have a skoda yeti 140hp 4x4 diesel in India. The car would randomly miss/cough/fluctuate.(I don't know how to best describe this) while running. The car rpm would suddenly just dip to zero and revive back to normal. During this time, the engine coil light and engine management light comes on momentarily. This whole even takes place for 2 seconds. This usually happens when the car is cold. Once optimum temperature is achieved by the engine, there is no issue. Sometimes it's does not happen and I make a successful trip. It happens sometimes even when the car is running giving a good jerk! Mine is a 6speed manual, 2011 model. I have all full service history. All job done from Škoda itself. Regretted the update I got done. Recently, I got the headlights changed and a new horn. Škoda checked the car but since nothing got recorded during scans, they said the car is fine. I do have a burnt fuse holder for 16no. Fuse in the engine bay fuse box but it has been there from 4-5 years which does not seem to be the case affecting this issue. Please help!!

@Suryaj1990 - Well, I had similar symptoms with my last car, which proved to be caused by a "throttle damper" which stopped it closing properly and promptly when I lifted off.
