I've got a loan Fabia 1.0tsi for a few days. It's  misting up from cold. Pressing the recirculate button does not light up any indicator and so I'm not sure which setting is on.

Is there a hidden menu or is the car just faulty?

Seems to demist once the engine is warm.

Recirculation is forbidden if the blower output is directed to the forward demister (see the instruction manual).

 

Turn on the air conditioning to dehumidify the incoming air, this will speed up demisting.

Manual air conditioning is turned on. But are you saying that the recirculate can't be used if the distribution dial is turned towards any demisting  symbols?

I'm used to climatronic in my Octavia. 

I think you can use both AC and the recirculate buttons at the same time.

Or try with the direction dial not at 12.00 o clock but one click away.

Also clean the screen with some glass cleaner and fresh clean paper tower.

Looks ok now. The recirculate button now lights up in any dial position except full demist. Thanks.
