Does anyone know where I can find the instructions on disabling city mode via VCDS?  I still want the other modes just not the wonky city mode,

It's under 55 - Headlight Regulation. Then under the long coding helper you should be able to set City mode - not enabled.

 

Looking at my history I did a basic setting on the headlamps too after performing the change. Not sure if this is strictly necessary.

Ahhh didn’t even think of looking under there I just assumed it would be the normal open multiple settings in German affair like setting HBA etc, 

 

cheers for that I’ll sort that out later on as it’s doing my head in on country lanes  where I’m under 30 or so but it’s unlit so I still want to be able to see what’s down the road not in the hedge!

No worries and yeah I was the same, didn't find it particularly useful and was one of the first things I changed with coding.

Basic setting is probably necessary. When I disabled the rain mode on mine I got an AFS error on the dash. Basic setting sorted that out.

Is there a description anywhere of what each mode actually does? I know it says it alters where the light is but an idiots guide would be good. Can’t say I have noticed any change in mine when it’s raining, I did re aim mine though as from the factory they were a little low.

I’ve had my Octavia vrs 2015 since 

march 2024. The stupid city spread on headlamps have 

driving me mad. 
so tonight connected vcds and in long coding unticked the box. 
got a AFS fault. Tried to do basic setting nothing. 
put back to how it was and still have fault. 
Hope someone can help as it’s now driving me even madder than the city spread.
