Replacing wishbone bushes - Fabia

Featured Replies

Techie querie here - 1.4MPI Fabia (2001)

I'm looking to replace the bushes at the rear of the wishbone onto the main crossmember - they seem to be plastic. I'm a bit nervous of doing it because on most cars you the bushes are on the wishbone, so you can remove the wishbone and bash it about a bit, but this is on the cross member.

Are these bushes easy to remove and replace, or is there a special VW group tool? They are the same on my other Polo.

On another query, the red warning light for coolant level/temperature seems to be faulty and beeps a flashes constantly. Coolant level is fine, temperature is fine (light even comes on when the engine is started from cold) - is there a sensor inside the expansion reservoir gone wrong or whats the story?

Any help would be much appreciated as I dont want to start banging away at these bushes and wind up putting the car on a trailer to my nearest Skoda garage.

1. There is a tool set to withdraw the bush in situ or you can remove and press it out. Or buy the console complete.

2. Search, been covered loads.

Remove the crossmember to push it out?? Are we talking about the same thing?
