Welcome to the forum Brad, most people start with a change of alloys usually larger. If performance is important a £500 remap will tick most boxes for turbo diesels or the 1.8t petrol engine.:hi:

Thanks I’m gonna change the wheels on it any way was thinking of using the Mercedes amg monoblock wheels, performance isn’t really something I’m after as I’ll have to have a black box fitted for insurance. So I’m gonna do mainly cosmetic stuff.

Welcome Brad

The Octavia bumpers do not fit, the B5 / B5.5 Passat bumpers should though as the MKI Superb is basically a slightly stretched Passat.

My 1st ‘mod’ would be to check the pollen filter housing doesn’t leak (they ALL will if they have not been modified) personally I wouldn’t even buy a car that has leaked as it will be a right PITA on what is otherwise a great car.

oh yeah I didn’t think of the Passat there loads of body kits. I’ll be sure to check the pollen filter too.

Don't forget many mods have to be declared to your insurance company including some cosmetic stuff. Safest way is to tell them.

As above check for wet carpets or evidence of them being wet before and make sure everything electrical works. Rust can be an issue. My previous 2003 one was (and still is) mechanically great but the tin worm was getting to a few places (wheel arches, sills, number plate lights!). Generally it was a fantastic car though.
