Selling a Suzuki Jimny

Featured Replies

My daughter wants to sell her 2005 Suzuki Jimny 1.3 JLX 3 door manual with about 106,000 miles on the clock as she would like a larger car. It has had about 4 owners from new.

In order to get a good price for it could anybody advise me of the best place to advertise it as advertising it here may not reach the target audience? She lives in North Wales in Mold and I live in Stockport.

The car is in average condition for it's age. It had a new clutch this year and the front half shafts to hub seals were replaced, I think, a couple of years ago although I understand that one is starting to weep. Also her newly aquired rescue dog, half alsation half greyhound, has chewed the rear seat belts so those may need replacing but I have not seen the damage myself. She has the rear seats folded down to accomodate the dog so her only luggage space is currently the passenger seat hence a larger car is needed.

Any advise that you could give us in selling the car would be appreciated.

The only replacement for a turnover (well besides another turnover) is a coilie!

I would give George (Offski/Skoffski) a shout, he appears to know a thing or two about Jimny's of that vintage.

I tried to but his account will not accept messages.

There's more than one way to wake @Skoffski up. ;)

There is a high demand on Used JImny's.

They sell like 'Hot Cakes' especially Winter time, and when a New Jimny is coming out and not Available yet to buy.

Advertise in BRISKODA cars for sale.  Autotrader, Gumtree, Ebay or local paper / supermarket ads etc.

Know what it is worth and advertise honestly.

PS

a 'For Sale notice' on a side and rear window of the Jimny, and be sure the car is safe with a Steering Wheel lock or Wheel Clamp fitted.

Just be careful that those looking and not buying are not coming back later to take it away.

There is a 'High Demand' for used Jimny's, for the car or just for the parts....

Skoffski,

Thanks for the advice. She lives behind a locked gate but it could be vunerable when it is parked.

I was surprised when I put the details into an internet valuation. They do appear to hold there price well.

@Liger1956  Have you checked out peoples asking prices?  Some are getting what they are asking.

I am looking for a last of the latest built Jimny Automatic and some are asking near the the price of the New JImny that is not yet here.

Not found a bargain one yet that is just a few years old.

I have a 2003 Auto that i could still get over £2,500 for.

The fear of getting it nicked is a bit sad.  I guess a teenage Jimny is particularly vulnerable.

Our small country town with massive verges, has cars parked on them for private sale almost every day of the week ......even dealers are getting in on the habit it seems.
