Turning my lights on triggers my indicator's & oil low light. Details and questions

Noticed it the other day flickering on and off but now it won't go away.

When I turn my lights on the check engine oil light pulses with the left indicator.

The oil level is perfect and has not changed, I've recently changed the oil and there is no metal in there.

No loss of mpg/pull/power and no white smoke or weird noises.

Car has been utterly faultless up to this point but my luck has struck. I have 700miles of driving to do this month and I'm worried.

Any ideas?

The video shows exactly what happens when the battery volts are low, recovering as the alternator kicks in. Check your battery voltage when the ignition is off after standing all night. Ties in with the extra load of the lights reducing the voltage again.

Borrow a known good battery to check if you can.

Thankyou so much. I had suspected this but just started to dig more and began to get more and more worried. Wasn't sure if my thread would be seen

Found this:

And no one seemed to update with a fix. I'll hot swap a battery tomorrow and let you know how it goes.

Regardless, it should be OK to drive in this condition shouldn't it?

Thanks again

Yes, you could drive it but be prepared for it failing to start without further warning.

I assumed you have checked that the battery terminals are clean and tight.

Your linked thread also suggests water ingest. Most common place for that around the terminals of the ECU under the scuttle in the engine bay, but ECU problems are usually more severe.

A common problem on older Octavia's. The solder joints on the back of the instrument cluster dry out / and or get damp, causing the random and dim illumination of one or more of the dash warning lights. The threads always tend to appear around this time of the year as the insides of (typically damp-by-design Octavia's) become moist.

If you follow this link, and then the links on each of my posts within each thread, you'll see that several other people have suffered from the same, or very similar issue...

Give  a her a dry out and avoid the deep puddles. My car has had some mositure build up issues lately.
