folding rear bench in superb mk2 FL twindoor/hatch

Featured Replies

I found somewhere an old topic here, but I cant remember. I guess it is not possible to fold the seating part (down part) on S3 twindoor.

Surely it can be removed with tools, but can it be folded up an out manually?

If somebody did it, please send some pictures. Someone here claimed he did it, but no pictures...

S2, my mistake in previous post

I also have a Superb II facelift twindoor and can confirm you can't fold the seat base but you can remove it without tools.  CAREFULLY "yank" up the front of the seat a bit on each side of the car and the two hoops locating the seat pulls out. The seat base can then be carefully removed.

Be aware it's possible (and I have done it - especially when relocating son to/from University) the seat base is not that solid and could be damaged. The up side is because the seat base is removed as well as flat seat backs when folded you also have lots of room still to use in the footwells (handy for PC base stations, games consoles and lots of gubbins etc.... in my case)

Yes, a work friend of mine had the horizontal rear bench out in less than 15 seconds with his bare hands. Skoda had lent me a MY12 Greenline for the day to test drive.

He wanted to see if the rear seat backs could lie flat, and without so much as a by-your-leave, he started hammering his palm directly upwards to the front of the rear bench. Up and out it popped revealing two metal clips towards the front.

It went back in easily, too.  I was quite shocked at the time.

Watch out if you have heated rear seats too - there is a wiring loom connection under the bench.

Awesome! The Mrs and I want to try sleeping in the Superb 2.0TDI - DSG - 170HP - 2013 but the seats wouldn't fold low enough. They do now thanks to this post but sadly I only scored 1P 🙂
