Hi all,

I have a 2008 Octavia vrs mk2 pd tdi. Since it’s started getting colder it won’t go into gear when it’s first started, once it’s warmed up for 10mins or so it’s fine. I’m thinking of changing the transmission fluid as I’ve not had the car long and I’m not sure if it’s been done before. Any ideas what grade oil to use? Is it 75w80?

Or would anyone know if the problem is something else completely?

Or genuine vw gearbox oil as the wrong spec will make it very notchy when cold.
