Central locking fault

Featured Replies

2006 Octavia Mk1 1.9td estate.

The central locking fault has been getting worse over a period of a few months, starting with the remote/key only opening the driver's door, but now the 'unlock switch' by the door handle will now not open any other doors or tailgate. It just clicks straight away to relock everything.

Any ideas please?

Also, while I'm asking, since having the 6 yrs ago we have never been able to lock it and deactivate the alarm by pressing the remote button a second time...  which is tricky with a noise sensitive dog in the back if we have to leave him in for a short while.  Dealer said it was not at fault but I know other owners who can deactivate.

Any suggestions gratefully received

Thanks

@rmb3971 most central locking faults trace to the wiring breaking in the driver's door bellows, water ingress to the multiplug in the same door, or wear on the plastic switch actuator. Since you have access to your car, you'e much better placed than I am to say/find which it is.
