As you don't receive the V5 when you take out a PCH deal can you put the car on a private plate and how would you remove it when your hire agreement ends ?

 

 

 

It can be done, admin fees payable to the finace company to put on and take off again. 

 

Big issue though is if the car is ever written off as you'll struggle to get the plate back as i understand. 

Loads of lease vehicles round here with private plates, so it can be done. 

 

I would send an email to both the PCH company and DVLA and find out what their respective policies are of changing over and what happens in the event of the vehicle being involved in a RTC or written off. 

 

I nearly lost my plate due to a DVLA fubar when I exported my previous vehicle to Gibraltar. They admitted it was their mistake, but if someone had bought it, all I was entitled to was a plate of similar value.
