Towing electrics

Recommended Posts

Has any body had any issues with the towing electrics on a Scout 190 DSG.  My caravan is fitted with filament bulbs (which are all ok as I’ve checked with my Octy) I have a 13 pin checker and they all light up to the corresponding function. My question is are the towing electrics on the car can bus? even the reversing lights don’t work on the van 2x21w. Thanks

I have the factory fitted towbar on my Scout.

All functions work, although I can't check the reverse lights as I converted the reverse light and fog light to additional brake lights. on the elctrical socket

The manual does specifically call out that you may have issues if the trailer lights are LED (strange considering the Kodiaq Scout's rear lights are all LED), but as your's are all incandescent they should be operating OK.

Are you using the 13 pin to 7 pin adapter on the electrical socket?

Are any of the trailer lights working?

Are you getting the amber warning triangle light on the dash?

Be sure that the ignition is off before plugging the electrics in, the manual mentions this too.

There is any installation manual for the orioginal electric towbar ?

I found only for a Karoq and not for my Kodiaq.

I bought everything but i didn't install anything yet.

i took the button and wiring from Kufatec.

but the control unit is 5Q0907383G i think is wrong i need the 5Q0907383N.

How i could safety set up the car for working proprly all arround ?

i thing via skoda dealer connects online and set up everything . i don't have the pin code  for that .
