Cancelled order for new Karoq

Featured Replies

Having ordered our new Karoq 1.6 diesel SE Tech in mid October for delivery late February  or early March,  I was very disappointed  to eventually  be given a build date  of week commencing  11th March. We've heard many tales of this type but we are off on a road trip to Italy, Austria  and Germany in a few weeks, and have sadly decided to cancel our order for a few reasons.

We were told we could extend our current pch, but are already at the limit of our mileage allowance and didn't think it wise to put up to 6,000 excess miles on our current car.

Our dealership have been excellent, and even offered to lend us a car to go to Italy in, in case our Karoq didn't arrive in time.  I must confess though to being a little nervous about doing that trip in a loan car, for lots of reasons (Italian drivers, insurance difficulties,  paperwork problems etc), so decided to cancel the order.

We then set about finding  a "stock car" to get on  a pch for immediate delivery. Eventually got a VW Passat estate thats already built and on it's way to the Uk. Not quite a Skoda but pretty similar to our current Superb.

Hope we like it as much !!!!!

Hats off to Derek Slack motors in Middlesbrough  though, they tried to help as much as possible.

A fine car albeit a good bit longer. Prob also heavier. Is it a 1•6 diesel (do they do one in the Passat) you may find it under powered v the Karoq.

Carwow extreamly good at sourcing new or demo. cars for immediate delivery.

Not a diesel, it's the newish 1.5 petrol tsi evo 150bhp.

It will take a bit of getting used to. It's my first ever automatic car too.
