Clutch problem vrs diesel pd

Featured Replies

Hi there, I'm hoping you guys can help me out here.

I've got a 2008 Octavia vrs diesel, pd engine.

Yesterday I drove through a bit of water, not much, just a bit of floods outside my friends house, and as I cleared the water and put it in 2nd gear, I noticed it was a bit harder to get in gear and it was the same all the way home which is only a mile from my friends house. I started the car this morning and it did not go into any gear. With the engine off it goes into every gear and feels normal and if i try starting the car with it in gear then it jumps like theres no clutch.

Any ideas?

Thanks very much

Clutch drive plate absorbed water and swollen?

If so it may return to normal when dried.

Or a hydraulic problem but hard to see how the water could cause that.
