At a guess, the BT module might not support it as it's not showing track info either.

Can you find the part number and post it?

The BT module is the telephone module on VCDS, so in your case it's 5N0 035 730 A. That's quite old, possibly from 2008/2009, I don't believe it supports play/pause/skip or track info and track info.

I'm not 100% on this, but I believe you need a BT module from around 2012 onwards to get those extra features.

I know it track info/skip for me with 3C8 035 730 D and 3C8 035 730 E modules. Not sure if any other 'premium BT' modules support it.

Reviving an old topic, but I have the same issue on my Superb with thos head unit. Is there anyway to sort it so I can change track?

well you can buy the suggested bt units.  nothing really else. im still stuck with it. not gunna buy bt unit, instead save for a chiptune :)

Is it simply a case of swapping the bt module then? Will it work or is there coding required?

It'll depend how the replacement BT module is coded...

It'll probably work but to get the best results, you should have the coding checked and adjusted as necessary.

Old post but I'm desperate.. Anyways, I got the D unit and the wire to get stereo sound for my 09'. Everything else works perfectly except I cant control or see what music is playing on the head unit. What do you mean by VCDS coding?

Same here. Phone connects fine, I can play and pause, but can't skip track or see a track list. I've got a 2016 Skoda Octavia.
