Want to rip out stereo and speakers and upgrade!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

As a new Skoda Fabia Hatchback owner (Comfort 1.4 TDI), I am unimpressed with the current stereo/speaker system and really want to take it out and put a new system in.

I want something that sounds great both back and front, CD/Cassette player etc etc. and can make some :speaker: noise! :speaker:

Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Tom

Do they do a 1.4 TDI too now? - surely you mean 1.9, like mine?

Never mind.

I think the stock system is reasonable in the Fabia. I've changed no speakers and just put a single disc Kenwood CD player in, along with an amp and sub in the boot for that needed bass. As for recommendations, there's plenty of choice out there, so there's little chance of making a duff decision on ICE upgrades.

Hi devonutopia,

Oops, sorry, yeah I meant 1.9 TDI not 1.4

Thanks for your input, any specific brand recommendations?

Cheers,

Tom

There is a 1.4 tdi (75hp) as well as the 1.9 now.

Its the same engine that they put in the Polo TDi sport

I've got a sony system for sale on this thread if you are interested.

But no matter what you will need a small dash insert which your dealer should be able to get you.

The speakers are a pain in the **** to change unless you can find speakers with very narrow magnets or are into a bodging up a stand for them in the front.

There is a 1.4 tdi (75hp) as well as the 1.9 now.

'tis a 3-pot one and is also in the Audi A2, I think, which can get about 80mpg. But sporty isn't a word I'd use for it either... ;)

Rob.
