Phone mute function is reversed

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have my iPhone 10 connected to my 2018 superb and all is well except the mute is reversed. With the red line through the microphone icon the mic is active and without the line the phone is muted. Does anyone else see this. Not a biggy but just something else to remember.

Hi, same thing happens on my 220. Takes a while to get used to as it confuses you at first ;-)

That’s indicating what will happen when you press the button, not “current status”.

Not  very intuitive...

I disagree @rplews - a button should show you what happens when you press it. Physical buttons in the car do that, and as much as possible they do that in the screens too. It's a good consistent UI.

Try this - roll the right hand jog-wheel while you're on a call, and you'll see the options change from mute to end call, etc. In all cases, they show you what will happen when you click in the jog wheel. I have no idea how that would work if it was the way round you are suggesting.

Anyway - hope the above helps you intuit the interface more easily.

I guess that makes sense. just takes a little time to get used to. The UI is very consistent but I can't get the clock to appear all the time. There is a setting to display the clock after x seconds but this does not seem to stick.

Totally agree Ross !  The opposite of intuitive - can't think of any other device that behaves this way, hey ho at least my unit is not broken 🙂.  Cheers !

Was on a work call the other day and chuckled at somebody - wasn't on mute lol.

Seems it’s fixed in 2022 models, hopefully they’ll issue this to older models asap, it was clearly wrong.
