Issue with starting in the morning (RPM goes up and down)

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I have an issue with my Skoda Octavia A7 2015, 1600. I have done the 60k maintenance and changed everything. Ever since, on starting the car in the morning, it is not normal as the RPM goes up and down around 1. We have tried changing the ignition coils but in vain. Also, while driving the engine has this weird vibration on N which increases when moving to D and pressing down the break paddle. Up till now, we have tried to alternate the ignition coils with new ones, but reached the even surprising issue of the 4th spark having more carbon residue compared to the other 3. So, We have put a new spark and a new ignition coil. Yet, the same issue occurred this morning.

Any thoughts what could be the issue.

Just to add, when this happens, once I switch the car off and on again, the RPM issue is gone, but the remaining ones while driving are still there.

No idea about the 1,600cc Petrol engine you have.

What octane of petrol do you use in Egypt?

If the correct spark plugs are fitted, and the coils are OK, and the Air Filter & Fuel Filter is all good and clean then maybe a sensor at fault.

?

What type of Gearbox does your car have, is it a DQ200 DSG, so a 7 speed twin dry clutch?

Thanks Skoffski for your prompt response.

I am using 95 octane petrol. As for the rest, they are all newly fitted. In this case, which sensor would be the problem?

The gearbox is 6 speed gearbox not DSG.

Sorry no idea.

I looked at post in the Roomster Section on 1.6 16v Petrol Triptronic's but was none the wiser.

Thanks Skoffski, hopefully others will have a clue to this.
