New egr fitted so stripped old unit

The plastic gears were fine and no teeth missing.

The valve moved fine with no interference

The tubes that travel through the water jacket do look bunged up with carbon, see pic.

Is this enough of a restriction to cause the eml to come on.

If cleaned out would this work again

Pointless now, unless you want to sell as a refurb to get some money back... (re other thread)

 

If its even remotely similar to the egr on Insignia, stripping de-crudding and reassembly is a regular task carried out by owners... it was in my next service list to have it done except the engine ate itself before that was due...
