2016 Octavia vRS TDI disk brakes + pads

Featured Replies

hi,

i need to change my front+rear brake discs+pads and after lots of searching i found the codes, can anyone tell me if they are good?

front discs  1K0 615 301 AD

rear discs 5Q0 698 451 F

front pads 8V0 698 151 C

rear pads 1K0 615 601 AA

also, what do you recommend? i saw most of the guys prefer ATE or TRW. TRW seems to be cheaper but the brand option for skoda octavia vrs. i could also get the OE but that is twice the price.. any hints please?

regards,

mihail

TRW were American owned up until 2015 when they were bought by well known German firm ZF. They also own Sachs well known for dampers and BOGE  so quality of TRW parts should be very high. Certainly pleased with the TRW brake parts on my 245.

TRW are fine as they make some of the VAG parts too so don't see any advantage of buying genuine skoda brake discs and pads.

TRW are the OEM for the VRS brake discs/pads/callipers.

The OEM parts can be purchased under the ‘trade club’ at TPS relatively cheaply c.£65 for the front pads IIRC - significantly less than the dealers.

I just replaced all 4 discs amd pads on mine. Got a good deal at ecp 50 % off a full set of brembo.
