Superb start issue

Superb occasionally wont start. Had the issue a year ago and the garage changed the ring around the ignition - the halo?

The original one was apparently not reading the key so the immobiliser was engaging. Now starting to happen again so wondering if there is any other electronic issue?

When you say, "won't start", is this a no crank - or a crank and no ignition of the fuel?

Since you brought up the immo, does the immo flash?

Trying to narrow down the area that needs attention.

Got a scan from the car?

No scan sorry. The key works re door and boot. When  you turn in ignition the various lights come on but no mechanical sounds - no turnover or pump.

Took me about 30 attempts to get it to start last night but once home it started first time 5 times in a row.

Last year after the garage replaced the receiver ring around the ignition it worked perfectly until a few days ago.

And yes, the yellow immobiliser light comes on and flashes each time I try to start it.

It is not immo then.  Immo would allow it to start and would immediately shut it down within a minute.

You have a no crank issue... this is electrical.  You need to get access to wiring diagrams...  My guess is a bad relay.

A diagnostic scan would probably not tell much either.

That is where I would be starting...
