Aftermarket ignition issue

Featured Replies

Hi all

I've recently installed a Pioneer SPH130DAB into my fabia 2 in place of the factory fitted dance.

The unit works fine but does not power off when I remove the key from the ignition like it does with the dance. It will power on though with the igniton

I have tried swapping the red and yellow bullet connectors on the pioneer loom but it doesnt make a difference and i am having to turn the head unit off manully.

I've put a picture of the wiring diagram for the in car connector taken from the Dance. Where should I have connected the ignition cable on the pioneer loom. I have it connected to the +UB currently. Maybe this is where I am wrong?

Im using a Connect2 ISO adaptor to convert between the skoda and pioneer looms

Thanks in advance

The original Skoda headunit didn't have a switched live, instead it will have turned on/off due to a can-bus message.

You either need to run a switched live from the fuse box or buy a can decoder to give you a switched live.

ok thanks, are you able to suggest some products that would enable this? and then where would they connect to the stereo?

cheers

There are plenty of versions but this is an example of a CAN decoder: http://www.connects2.co.uk/Product/ProductItem/CTHUE-SK1

There are installation instruction in the 'Downloads' section but in this case, it gives you a standard ISO connector with a switched live already present so should be super easy to fit :)
