I have spotted a new hub being installed in Chelmsford (not before time as mentioned in a Dave Takes It On video, Chelmsford is pith poor for charging points), this ex Pizza Hut is now a McDonalds and opened last week and there is now I think 3 or 4 chargers which look like double chargers. I only saw it as I drove by it on my way to Halford's.

This site is in Chelmer Village Retail Park and when I next go there, I'll try and take some photos of the chargers and let you know how many are there.

Ops sorry, I have reported it as filed in the wrong thread and asked if it can be moved to the one for England.

Very handy outside Girvan on the industrial site.  Rapid CCS at the harbour still broken. 11kW AC cut out at 80,% and £7.00 if I had started again I would have been £5 minimum to 100%,.   This shows on ElectroVerse at 53 pence a kWh.  It is a 22kW and I am getting 11kW. Started with ElectroVerse card immediately.      Wind turbines very near.

Public Tariffs becoming ridiculous with the price to plug in / the first kW of electric.

They really do not want the public using the chargers that they got grants to install but they had to provide free for 2 years and now they can charge.

If you needed a 7kW charge for an hour,  4 miles a kWh, so for 28 miles.

Scotmid.

195 pence and 6 x 45 pence = £4.65

Loch Fyne Oyster bar.

245 pence and 6 x 45 pence =£5.15

Accorn Properties.   THERE IS A 45 Min max charging then £1 a minute.    *So you are not getting 7 kW in 45 minutes on a Slow or fast charge.* Pay more for 7 kWh on the AC.

Slow / 3.6 kW, 200 pence and 6 x 75 pence = £6.50

Fast / Rapid /Ultra Rapid.

195 pence and 6 x 70 pence = £6.15

Using the ElectroVerse Card or Phone App to start chargers under the CPS Administration seems to be far more reliable than the CPS RFID Card or App.

For me anyway.

New Osprey chargers in Motherwell

I was planning on using a 7 kW AC charger in Silverburn Shopping centre Glasgow tomorrow. First Floor & free charging.

I was checking on it and all i could see was that this would be replaced by BP Pulse Chargers in the Red Car Park area in November.

I can not see anything about that on BP Pulse site.

There are chargers at the Tesco Extra , CPS .  Their app is hopeless.

ElectroVerse shows them as 7kw AC & 40 pence a kWh.

EDIT.

++These are PodPoint and 44 pence a kWh.**   My bad.   ElectroVerse and the CPS chargers showing are at Pollock Health Centre. Close by.

ZapMap & PlugShare is pretty damn poor for trying to find where chargers still are in service. or even new ones.

BP Pulse showed chargers in Asda Forfar's car park and these have been out of service for 4 year.

Still power going to the red lights showing not working.

With Regulation changes it is going to be hit and miss seeing  where old non contactless chargers have been replaced / upgraded or not.

There are 3 new Osprey Chargers planned for Forfar but the work not yet started.

I will see if these are still available.     EDIT, chargers were still available.    Some PHEV,s plugged in and fully charged and blocking the bays though.

Girvan Harbour Rapid DC and AC at least working.  RFID or App starting, except App would not start it.   No Contactless Payment and no pricing showing on the machine, even just stickers.  38 pence 43 / 50 kW, 31 pence AC 7 or 11 or 22 kW.  Minimum cost £5.    I assume the council could not care and just do as they wish regardless of legislation.

A new Charge Place Scotland App had appeared as available and I accepted.  'ECV2'.  Showing me live state of charge and current cost from the ongoing charge.  Also staying logged in unlike the old App I still have on phone that does not even recognise the charger is where it is. It keeps requiring to sign into it which is a PITA.  Even though the charger does not show on the map it is showing on the app how many kW so far and cost so far.  The map / site says you can see the cost when at the charger. Well not on the Rapid. And then the 7/ 11 kW AC charge points have never shown prices per kWh.    Elsewhere there are chargers with Stickers and T&C,s and Tariffs. Not easy peeled off ones.

Easy Ayrshire EV Charging tariffs are going high in January 2025 and then higher again later in the year.

Last night the charger cut out on me so now i know why the other cars sitting were not charging.

I was not charged the £5 minimum so did not report to CPS as i have when several times this has happened in South Ayrshire.

CPS Call handler says report to the Council, the Council have ignored my Emails.

This morning the charger cut out after 6 minutes and 3 kWh charged.

Today i read this.  Councilor saying Report to CPS.   *******.  CPS/ SWARCO  & Councillors.

The car park was jam packed full as something on in the Big Top in the Athletics Arena.  The cars plugged in and not charging might well have drivers and passengers coming back and expecting the car fully charged for heading home.  This is the issue at many park and rides.   Even the AC chargers cutting out and no charge as the driver expected.  Phone Apps a necessity to check cars level.  Not that that is any use when a train, plane, bus journey away.  Just a warning that you are going to have to get charging when back at the car. Somewhere.
