Navigation failed to calculate

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have recently updated the maps for my Amundsen MIB 2 on my Octavia Mk3. I used the Skoda update portal and downloaded the ECE1 2019/20 version.

The maps display correctly and the navigation system generally performs as expected but when attempting to get directions to certain destinations I get the following message, 'Route calculation failed. Error: accessing navigation data.'

Even driving to the destination and saving the location on the system, it still cannot calculate a route back to it from elsewhere.

In case it was being caused by a corrupt file I cleared the SD card and re-downloaded the update, but still got the same error. Any ideas?

I have the same problem on my 2018 Karoq. The software on the Amundsen has been updated to ECE1 2019/20 version. When the car was in the garage for its 1st service I had an Octavia courtesy car. The sat nav fitted had the same problem, its software was the previous version. The annoying thing is that when entering the postcode it shows the destination with a chequered flag. Is it because part of the routes are "off road" eg National Trust properties? I have recently visited several and the Sat Nav would not calculate some of the destinations from my home address, but calculated the route closer to the destination. My TomTom, which I don't usually use, does not seem to have this problem. Any thoughts?

I have had the same when parked up beneath some quite dense trees in a Welsh Valley back in the summer. As soon as I got down the road a mile or so, the route plotted ok. I guess if it can’t get GPS position refs from satellites, it can’t plot properly. I get the same with other GPS gadgets from time to time at other places I regularly visit.
