Octavia vrs mk3 2013

I am new to this site  but have read a post from mikebham......ref his cruise control......i have fitted an original v.a.g cruise control stalk unit with matching numbers confirmed by bolton t.p.s. but experiencing problems getting it to work. So ive gone into the long coding on vcds and clicked on the drop down menu and activated the stalk and changed the coding from 0400 to 1400. I also turned the stop start of  but this  was a  mistake as i now get a stop start error. So anyway it still wont work so today i sent it to a reputable auto electrician to get it coded.....all seemed well £25plus vat for server entry and an hours labour £55 plus vat.....all seemed well untill they rang to say they couldn't communicate with the engine ecu.......they still charged me and the car now has a gearbox fault registered on the infotainment system. I am not happy to say the least.......i read in  one of the posts of mikebham some pictures of the fitting instructions stating that a wire needs to be run from the A pillar to the control module. Its even stated on ross tech that skoda have omitted this wire on many new models. It had a fault code p0568

So my question is this can anyone confirm pin numbers for where this wire needs to be grafted into and  both ends, i seem to recall pin21 .  And does this information come with the s.d. card pack or does it come with the stalk as mine came of the net....also at this point do i bite the bullet and stick it in at skoda......what was supposed a simple job has turned into a real headache. Any genuine information would be gratefully accepted. Sorry forgot to mention i work in the trade and own my own garage so im no idiot......lol cheers simon
