Hatchback rear wiper

Featured Replies

The rear wiper on my Octavia hatchback has just stopped. It did this before and I sprayed some lubricant on it and left it overnight and it has worked ever since. My rear washer has always played up. Water comes out of the wiper area outside of the car, but the jet always seems to be broken, so the fluid leaks around the outer housing of the wiper motor outside the car and also seems to leak down through the boot latch.

The motor sometimes works now, so I'm not sure what avenue to go down to fix it!

Any ideas?

Hi there,

Yes I had a same issue. Basically you will need to replace jet as old one will be full of rust and check the connection between plastic housing on the motor and pipe. To check connection you will need to remove plastic door cover witch hold by one screw on boot handle and just unclip with force.  If you experiencing problem with motor, it's because the washing liquid is leaking into the motor as the fluid is going throw motor wiper screen pinion.

Hi gman,

have you managed to remove the panel, and if so, how did you do it?

I have a 08 Octavia and the rear washer doesn't work, so need to remove the panel, but can't get it to come off.

Regards

Undo one screw and yank, doesn't get any simpler than that!

Unless they have made the saloon a lot more difficult.

Nope. Defoe 1 screw where the pull down handle is and then pop the the clips off by pulling/yanking/praising

Washer motor is held on by e bolts once you u clip the wiring and unclip the washer pipe.

15 minute job.

I have always found it harder to get the panel back on afterwards
