Towbar & Media unit problems.

Featured Replies

Hi all, we have a 2016 Superb L&K 190 bought new. Now has 22k. We tow a caravan and when car is coupled to caravan we lose radio & cd etc. This has happened on 2 brand new caravans this year-both the same make & model. (Lunar CK Clubman). We had the same model van again brand new in 2012 with no problem. The radio screen or media screen both light up as normal but that’s all. Have contacted Skoda UK, but as the car is 10 days out of warranty I am expected to pay a diagnostic charge. Nothing shows up on vag-com,& Skoda UK have suggested taking the car & caravan into the dealers together. 36ft long!! A physical impossibility. Any suggestions please.

Kevin.

Welcome.

Just take it to the dealers.

You drive on the road with the 36ft outfit and must be able to park.

Car dealerships get deliveries by Car Transporters a lot longer than 36ft.

If I got it into the dealership I could not get out again without bringing the van out on its own. The car transporter parks outside on the road & the cars are driven in one at a time. The layout of the dealership makes it impossible to drive a car & caravan combination in together.

Thanks.

If a Warranty Issue then any Skoda Main Dealership will do.

If that dealership did the fitting then maybe they need to send out a Man / Woman in a van, or get a competent sparks out to you.
