Xtreme Alloys

Featured Replies

Hi folks. Putting my 66 plate vRS lease car back early and 3 of the 4 alloys have marks on the light part of the alloys. It looks like its underneath the coating. Anyone know what it is? They feel smooth when you run your finger over a lot of them. Just bracing myself for when the car gets inspected.

Cheers.

Yeah very common on diamond cut alloys just moisture has got in between the top coat clear lacquer and the machined surface. Will get mine repainted this winter as it looks naff on my RS6 replica's.

Covered by the 3 year warranty?

It would be on some makes...e.g. BMW.

Assuming there is no kerb damage then it would certainly be worth going down the warranty route. Any kerb damage though and you’ll just be told to walk on.

True enough. But, we all know what some dealers are like!

”Sorry, Sir, but this is water ingress likely caused by a stone flicking up and damaging the surface of the wheel, even very slightly, allowing water to get behind the outer coat - we’re very sorry but this isn’t covered....”.

So @grantyboy1980,make sure you stand up for yourself!

Hi. Thanks for the replies. Its getting collected by BCA on the 31st so no time to get it back to a dealer. I'm just wondering what to say to the inspector when he comes. Try and avoid getting charged for damage that, isn't damage potentially!
