when 4x4 octavia is on the lift, how it is correct working of propshaft at engine off and manual gearbox in 1st ?

If I turn front wheel by hand propshaft is not turning. When should it turn ? Does it have front diff any matter for propshaft or not ?

Did you turn both wheels at the same time or just one?

Just one wheel, since i was unnable turn both  at that time (extra hand needed for that).

That is why the prop shaft did not turn then, due to the differential you would need to turn both wheels at the same time, or at least stop the other wheel from turning. You will also need somebody pressing the clutch as well as with the gearbox in gear the engine would want to turn also.

Dooh, what a dumb question. Thank you for explanation. I thought propshaft is  not connected through diff.

This is a Mk1 but might explain what is happening.
